Travel Information
The journey to Chilean Patagonia is substantial, which is part of why arriving feels like an achievement. Our team handles all logistics from the moment you land in Santiago.
Via Santiago
Most international guests arrive via Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport. Domestic flights to Punta Arenas depart regularly from Santiago and take approximately three hours and fifteen minutes. We strongly recommend allowing one night in Santiago before the onward flight, both for rest and as a contingency against delays.
Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales
From Punta Arenas Airport, a scheduled bus service runs to Puerto Natales (approximately 2.5 hours) or we can arrange a private transfer. Puerto Natales is the gateway town to the national park, with excellent accommodation options if you wish to spend a night before continuing. From Puerto Natales to Tierra Patagonia is a further three hours by road through the park, arriving past Lago Sarmiento.
International Arrivals
Citizens of most countries do not require a visa for Chile. A tourist card is issued on arrival and valid for 90 days. Currency exchange is available at Santiago and Punta Arenas airports. Mobile coverage is intermittent within the national park; we provide satellite communication at the lodge for emergencies.
